## Key facts (with sources)
- Washington DC: from 1 January 2027 a resale ticket may cost at most the original all-in price (all fees and taxes) plus 10%; a secondary ticket exchange may add a fee of at most 10% of that original price (D.C. Code § 28-5506, D.C. Law 26-181). It does not apply before 1 January 2027 (the act took effect on 25 September 2026). Excluded (§ 28-5501(6)): movie screenings, and sporting events organized by a professional or intercollegiate sports team located in DC or by a professional athletic association with an event located in DC.
- Maine: no resale price cap; the fee for providing a resale marketplace may not exceed 10% of the original ticket's total price including taxes and fees (8 M.R.S. § 1301(2-A)(G)).
- United Kingdom: announced 19 November 2025, not law yet: resale above face value (original price plus unavoidable fees) to be made illegal and platform fees capped.
